How to classify a refurbished item

• All items must be inspected, tested and fully functional.
• You must classify each item according to its actual condition when it is listed.
• Classification must always be based on the most restrictive criterion.
• If an item does not meet a key requirement for a grade, you must assign the lower grade.
• If you are unsure between two grades, always select the lower grade.
• You cannot list items with functional faults that affect their main use.
• The published information must be clear, accurate and consistent with the item’s actual condition.
• You must identify the main components correctly, especially for smartphones and laptops.
• For the Like New grade, the Full Original condition is mandatory and does not allow exceptions.

A Like New item must be in excellent condition and have an appearance that is practically new. It must have been inspected, tested and verified to provide an experience very close to that of a new item.

Mandatory criteria:

• Functionality fully verified.
• Item fully operational.
• Impeccable cosmetic condition.
• No relevant visible marks, scratches, impacts or noticeable wear.
• May have minimal signs of use that are not noticeable at first glance.
• Screen in perfect cosmetic condition.
• Battery health of at least 98%.
• All original accessories included.
• Original packaging in good condition.
• Minimum warranty of 3 years.
• All main components must be original manufacturer components.

The following are not accepted:

• Screens replaced with compatible or generic parts.
• Batteries replaced with compatible or generic parts.
• Non-original critical components.
• Repairs that alter the manufacturer’s original configuration.

A Very Good item must be in very good overall condition. It may have had moderate previous use and show minor cosmetic signs, but it must have been inspected, tested and work correctly.

Mandatory criteria:

• Functionality fully verified.
• Item fully operational.
• May show a small number of signs of use.
• May have micro-scratches or small marks that are not easily visible.
• Minor scratches or marks must be less than 15 mm.
• Screen in good condition with no relevant defects.
• May have a minor, barely noticeable defect that does not affect the user experience.
• Battery health of at least 90%.
• Well-maintained overall appearance.
• Required accessories included, either original or premium-compatible.
• Original or generic packaging.
• Minimum warranty of 2 years.

A Functional item must be fully operational, inspected and tested, although it may show visible signs of use. This grade is suitable for customers who prioritise price over cosmetic condition.

Mandatory criteria:

• Functionality fully verified.
• Item fully operational.
• May show visible marks, scratches, cosmetic wear or minor impacts.
• May have minor scratches or dents.
• The screen must work correctly.
• The screen may have minor marks, provided they do not affect normal use.
• For smartphones, battery health must be at least 80%.
• For Apple devices, battery health must be at least 80%.
• Essential accessories must be included.
• May include original or generic packaging.
• The original packaging may not be included.
• Minimum warranty of 1 year.

You cannot list an item as refurbished if it has any of the following:

• Functional faults that affect its main use.
• A broken or cracked screen, or defects that prevent normal use.
• A swollen or damaged battery, or a battery that presents a safety risk.
• Account, user, BIOS, iCloud, Google, MDM or similar locks.
• Liquid damage or internal corrosion.
• Counterfeit or undeclared components.
• Missing critical accessories required for normal use.
• Untraceable handling or an unverified repair.
• An illegible, altered or unverifiable serial number, IMEI or other identifier.

Before listing a refurbished smartphone, you must check:

• Correct start-up, shutdown and restart.
• Touchscreen operation across the entire surface.
• Cosmetic condition of the screen, frame, rear casing and cameras.
• IMEI or serial number.
• No account, iCloud, Google, MDM or similar locks.
• Correct cable charging.
• Condition of the charging port.
• Speaker and microphone operation.
• Front and rear camera operation.
• Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint sensor operation, where applicable.
• Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile network and NFC operation, where applicable.
• Physical button operation.
• SIM tray or eSIM compatibility, where applicable.
• Factory reset completed.
• Previous user data removed.

Before listing a refurbished laptop, you must check:

• Correct start-up, shutdown and restart.
• Operating system installation or restoration.
• Screen condition and operation.
• Full keyboard operation.
• Trackpad operation.
• Hinge condition and operation.
• USB, USB-C, HDMI, audio, charging and other ports, where applicable.
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operation.
• Webcam and microphone operation.
• Speaker operation.
• Charger included and functional.
• Battery condition.
• SSD or HDD condition.
• RAM condition.
• Serial number verification.
• No BIOS, MDM, user or company locks.
• External physical cleaning.
• Previous user data removed.

You must classify the item according to its actual condition when it is listed.

If you are unsure between two grades, always select the lower grade to protect the customer experience, reduce incidents and maintain trust in the refurbished-item standard.

• All items must work: you cannot list items with faults that affect their main use.
• Apply the most restrictive criterion: if the item does not meet a requirement, assign the lower grade.
• Like New: requires excellent condition, original accessories, original packaging and Full Original components.
• Very Good: may show minor signs of use but must have a well-maintained overall appearance.
• Functional: may show visible marks, provided they do not affect functionality.
• Inspect the item: complete all relevant checks before listing it.
• Describe the actual condition: the information in the offer must match the unit received by the customer.
