How to add enriched content (A+) to a product page

Enriched content, also known as A+ content, expands the product description by using images, structured text, comparisons and multimedia content.

You can use it to explain product features in greater detail and provide customers with additional information before they purchase.

Important: you cannot publish A+ content directly. The PcComponentes Cataloguing team must review and implement the HTML or image on the product page.
Contents
  1. Choose the A+ content format
  2. Request the image directory
  3. Prepare the content
  4. Send the content to Cataloguing
  5. Review and publication
  6. Check the content before sending it
1️⃣ Choose the A+ content format

You can prepare enriched content in two different formats:

HTML in the description A+ image
Format Structured HTML content within the product description. A single image containing all the content.
Display The content adapts better to different screen sizes. The content is displayed as a single piece and does not rearrange according to screen size.
Changes Individual elements can be edited. Any change requires editing and replacing the entire image.
Preparation Requires correctly prepared and reviewed HTML. Requires a design prepared using the indicated dimensions.
2️⃣ Request the image directory

Contact the Cataloguing team, copying your account manager, and indicate which A+ content format you are going to use.

A directory will be prepared in the PcComponentes CDN to host the images. Once uploaded, you will receive the final URLs to use in the content.

Please note: do not use images hosted on external servers. Images used in A+ content must be hosted in the directory provided by PcComponentes.
Please note: use lowercase file names without spaces, accents or special characters before sending your images. This helps prevent incorrect URLs and broken images.
3️⃣ Prepare the content

If you use HTML

  • Use clean HTML. Avoid tags such as <span> and do not include style or class attributes.
  • Structure the content. You can use headings such as <h1> and <h2>, together with standard text and list elements.
  • Keep a white background. Do not include black or dark backgrounds.
  • Check character encoding. Pay particular attention to accented characters and other special characters.
  • Check every image URL. Open each URL in your browser and make sure the image loads correctly.
Please note: encoding errors may cause characters that look correct in your editor to be displayed incorrectly after publication.

For general product-description guidelines, see Create the perfect product page.

Videos

You can include videos hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. We recommend YouTube, preferably using the embed format.

If you use an A+ image

  • Dimensions: prepare the image at 837 × 2156 px.
  • Design: use a light background and maintain a consistent visual style.
  • Information: prioritise information that helps customers understand the product.
  • Mobile readability: avoid very small text or overly dense comparisons.
Please note: the image is displayed as a single piece and its content does not automatically rearrange according to screen size. Check its readability on mobile carefully.
4️⃣ Send the content to Cataloguing

Send the content to catalogacion-marketplace@pccomponentes.com and copy your account manager.

  • New product with HTML: include the content in the file you import into Mirakl and tell Cataloguing which product references contain A+ content.
  • Existing product with HTML: send the HTML code to Cataloguing so it can be implemented on the product page.
  • A+ image: send the image to Cataloguing whether the product is new or already published.
For new products: clearly identify the references containing A+ content in your message.
5️⃣ Review and publication

The Cataloguing team reviews the content before implementing it on the product page.

If errors are detected, the content must be corrected before it can be published.

Pay particular attention to:

  • Black or dark backgrounds.
  • Incorrectly displayed special characters.
  • Broken images caused by incorrect URLs.
6️⃣ Check the content before sending it
  • The content uses a white or light background, depending on the format.
  • Special characters are displayed correctly.
  • The HTML does not contain unnecessary <span>, style or class elements.
  • All images are hosted in the PcComponentes CDN.
  • All image URLs work correctly.
  • There are no broken images or missing elements.
  • YouTube or Vimeo videos work correctly.
  • The content is readable on desktop and mobile.
  • An A+ image uses the 837 × 2156 px dimensions.
  • You have clearly identified the product references related to the content.
