A complete and well-structured product sheet makes it easier to review the product and helps customers identify it correctly before purchasing.
This guide explains the criteria you should follow when preparing the title, identifiers, description, images, attributes and logistics data.
- Before you start
- Complete the general parameters
- Prepare the description in HTML
- Add images
- Complete the attributes
- Add logistics data
- Use Icecat when available
- Review the product sheet before submitting it
These rules apply regardless of the method you use to create the product.
Before you begin, gather the product information you will need, including the brand, model, identifiers, technical specifications and images.
General parameters are used to identify and classify the product correctly.
Title
Use a clear and concise title with a maximum of 100 characters.
Use initial capital letters, avoid commas in numerical values and do not add “OEM” before products that do not have a brand.
Some product families use a specific title structure:
| Product family | Structure |
|---|---|
| Motherboards | BRAND + MODEL |
| Processors | BRAND + MODEL + BASE SPEED |
| Hard drives and SSDs | BRAND + MODEL + CAPACITY + CONNECTIONS |
| RAM | BRAND + MODEL + MEMORY TYPE + SPEED + MODULES AND SIZE + LATENCY |
| Computers and laptops | BRAND + MODEL + PROCESSOR + RAM + STORAGE + GRAPHICS, IF DEDICATED + SCREEN SIZE, IF APPLICABLE |
| Ink cartridges | BRAND + MODEL + INK TYPE + ORIGINAL OR COMPATIBLE + COLOUR |
| Video games | TITLE + PLATFORM |
| Smartphones | BRAND + MODEL + RAM/ROM + COLOUR + UNLOCKED + VERSION TYPE, IF IMPORTED FROM OUTSIDE SPAIN |
Brand
Select the exact product brand. If it is not available in the system, request its creation before submitting the product for review.
Product family
Each product must belong to one product family only. The selected family determines its classification and the attribute groups you will need to complete.
If you are unsure, check similar products on PcComponentes to help identify the appropriate category.
Product SKU
Use the EAN in this field to help prevent import errors.
EAN
This is the 13-digit numerical code that uniquely identifies the product.
MPN
This is the original reference assigned to the model by the manufacturer. It must uniquely identify the corresponding product.
The description should explain which product you are creating and include its features and technical specifications. Use official manufacturer information as your source.
We recommend using the following order:
- A short introduction presenting the product.
- A list of its main features.
- A complete list of technical specifications.
The description must be submitted in HTML. You can use the following general structure:
<p>Product introduction.</p>
<p>Additional product information.</p>
<h2>Features</h2>
<ul>
<li>Feature 1</li>
<li>Feature 2</li>
<li>Feature 3</li>
</ul>
<h2>Specifications BRAND MODEL</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Specification 1:</strong> value</li>
<li><strong>Specification 2:</strong> value</li>
<li><strong>Specification 3:</strong> value</li>
</ul>
<br> or <span>. Use a simple structure based on paragraphs, headings and lists.
For products such as laptops, tablets or smartphones, organise specifications into clear sections and only include information that applies to the product being created.
See How to add enriched content (A+) to a product page. A+ content follows a specific preparation and review process carried out by the Cataloguing team.
Add at least one clear, high-quality image of the product. We recommend including at least five images to complete the image carousel.
The upload template allows a maximum of 9 images.
Main image
The main image must show the product on its own against a white background, without added watermarks, frames or logos.
Image requirements
- Format: JPG.
- Resolution: 800 × 800 px.
- Background: white, without borders or excessive margins.
- Quality: clear, sharp and not pixelated.
Additional images may include compositions or screenshots where these help explain the product, for example for video games.
Attributes are specific product characteristics used to classify the product correctly and help customers find it using filters on the website.
Each product family may contain one or more attribute groups with predefined values.
If you use a product template, check the ReferenceData tab to see the available groups and accepted values.
- Select the value that applies to the product.
- If a characteristic does not apply, some groups may be left blank.
- Always complete attributes marked as mandatory for the selected product family.
Logistics data may include:
- Width, height and depth in centimetres.
- Weight in kilograms.
Use a full stop (.) as the decimal separator.
If the product is registered in Icecat, some of the information in the product sheet may be obtained through this platform.
See Icecat to learn how it is used during product creation.
