Creating a perfect product sheet – Marketplace sellers

A high-quality product sheet speeds up approval, improves search engine ranking, and builds customer trust. Below, we explain step by step how to create a perfect sheet.

Important: The more information you provide and the better structured it is, the faster it will be listed in the system.

Introduction

Product sheets are divided into four main sections:

General parameters.
Images.
Attributes.
Logistics data.

General parameters

Include the essential data to classify the product:

Title
Brand
Family
Product SKU
EAN
MPN
Description

TITLE

It must be clear, concise, and no more than 100 characters. The format should be:

BRAND + MODEL + PRODUCT TYPE + SPECIAL FEATURE(S)

Use initial capitals, avoid commas in numerical values, and do not prefix "OEM" if there is no brand.

There are certain families where the title pattern varies from the one indicated above; here are some examples:

Motherboards: BRAND + MODEL
Processors: BRAND + MODEL + BASE SPEED
Hard drives/SSD: BRAND + MODEL + CAPACITY + CONNECTIONS
RAM Memory: BRAND + MODEL + MEMORY TYPE + SPEED + MODULES AND SIZE + LATENCY
Desktops/Laptops: BRAND + MODEL + PROCESSOR + RAM + STORAGE + GRAPHICS (If dedicated) + INCHES (If screen included)
Inks: BRAND + MODEL + INK TYPE + ORIGINAL OR COMPATIBLE + COLOR
Video games: TITLE + PLATFORM
Smartphones: BRAND + MODEL + RAM/ROM + COLOR + UNLOCKED + VERSION TYPE (If imported from a country outside Spain)

BRAND

Specify the exact brand. If it does not exist, contact the support team to have it added.

FAMILY

Every product must be included in a single family in our classification tree. Families structure the page and group together products with similar functions or characteristics.

In case of doubt, you can check the product’s category on its sheet on the website, which can be a good indicator for finding the correct family in the system.

It is important to correctly select the family, as it determines the attribute groups to be marked later and for subsequent publication on the website.

PRODUCT SKU

In this field, enter the EAN, as it is an internal Mirakl field that does not affect you, and this way you will avoid errors.

EAN

13-digit numeric code that identifies the product. It is a unique code per product.

MPN

The MPN is the original manufacturer reference of the model you are creating and is used to identify the product. Like the EAN, it is a unique code per product.

DESCRIPTION

Explain in detail which item you are registering, its special features, and all its specifications. This information must be taken from the manufacturer’s official website.

Product sheets usually start with an introductory sentence or short text presenting the item and including a keyword that can help position the sheet in search engines, followed by one or more paragraphs detailing its best qualities.

Next, you will indicate the detailed list of the most important and identifying features of the product.

And finally, the list of technical specifications, both internal and external. There is no character limit for product descriptions.

All product sheets must be in HTML code, using as a general rule the following structure and tags to identify each section of the sheet:

Tags like <br> or <span> should be avoided. In products like phone cases or screen protectors that sometimes do not have a model, it is acceptable to omit it in the <h2> of Specifications.

In certain families of electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones, we have a predetermined HTML template that helps to more clearly catalog the specifications of each product. It is desirable for the information to be published in this format.

IMAGES

You must add one or more clear and sharp images of the product. On the website, you can publish as many images as you want, but in the upload template, there is a maximum of 9.

Important: Upload at least one image. We recommend at least five to complete the product’s image carousel.

In the main image, the product must always appear alone on a white background, with no brands or logos.

Images published in product sheets must be:

In JPG format.
With a white background, and without borders or excessive margins.
Resolution: 800 x 800 pixels.
Sharp and not pixelated.

Exception: The product can appear with another product in the main image if it helps to better explain the function or use of the product. Ideally, that extra product should be shaded or clearly indicated as not included in the purchase.

ATTRIBUTES

Most families have one or more attribute groups. These attributes are specific characteristics of a product, and other products in the same family can share the same characteristic. They help and facilitate website navigation by enabling filtering to find the desired product. Thanks to filters, customers will find you in website searches.

Attribute groups are composed of attributes with predefined values. In the ReferenceData tab of each template, you will find the attribute groups for that family and the different options for each. You must choose one per attribute group.

Sometimes, the attribute group can be left empty if the product does not include that characteristic. For example: a capsule coffee machine without a grinder would leave the “Automatic” and “With Grinder” filter groups empty.

Some families have mandatory attribute groups, and these must be correctly filled out for the product to be accepted.

Include:

Width, height, and depth (cm)
Weight (Kg)
Use “.” (dot) as a decimal separator.

Important: These are not mandatory, but if you fill them out, all must be completed, otherwise the import will fail.

If your products are registered in Icecat, the system can autocomplete part of the data. This speeds up approval.
