What is the GPSR and what does it establish?
It is an EU regulation that establishes general safety requirements for products. It sets out the following points:
- Improve the level of consumer protection, with fair competition conditions for businesses, enhancing the functioning of the EU internal market.
- To this end, it replaces the current directive on general product safety, ensuring the safety of consumer goods sold, whether online or offline.
Which products does it apply to?
- Both to new, refurbished, used, or repaired products.
- To all products offered to EU consumers through their respective sales channels.

Does not apply to the following products:
- Medicines.
- Food and feed.
- Live plants or animals.
- Animal by-products.
- Plant protection products.
- Transport equipment operated by a service provider.
- Aircraft.
- Antiques.
- Products clearly indicating that they must be repaired or refurbished before use.
Safety requirements.
Economic operators will only market or introduce products that are safe. Safety will be assessed considering the following criteria:
- The product's characteristics, design, technical features, composition, packaging, or instructions.
- The effect on other products.
- The product's presentation, labeling, any warnings, as well as instructions and safety information.
- The categories of consumers who will use the product.
- The product's appearance, particularly aspects related to food imitation or attractiveness to children.
- Cybersecurity features and any functionality for evolution, learning, and prediction of the product.

What should we provide?
- Manufacturer's identification data, i.e., the manufacturer's corporate name, registered trademark, as well as their postal address and email. If the manufacturer is not located within the EU, provide the data of the importer or authorized representative.
- Any warnings or safety information, which must be placed on the product or packaging, accompanied by compliance with this regulation or applicable Union harmonization legislation in a language understandable to consumers, depending on the member state where it is marketed.

- GPRS: It is the self-certification declaration.
- GPRS acceptance: Indicate whether you accept the regulation's conditions.
In the offer settings:
From now on, you will see new fields in your offer settings related to the new regulation that you must fill out.
These are:
- gpsr-established: Indicate if the manufacturer is established in the EU.
- gpsr-name: Indicate the full corporate name of the brand.
- gpsr-address-street: Indicate the address where the brand is established in the EU.
- gpsr-address-city: Indicate the city where the brand is established in the EU.
- gpsr-address-postal-code: Indicate the postal code where the brand is established in the EU.
- gpsr-address-country: Indicate the country where the brand is established in the EU.
- gpsr-email: Indicate the contact email of the manufacturer or authorized representative in the EU.
